I was a little concerned about finishing on time. August was a rough month. BUT...Yeah, I did it!
What a great way to learn without sucking up time at a seminar. I picked up new things a little at a time and was able to try them out right away.
This was a great learning experience!

This is by far the hardest thing for me. I am aweful at arranging time for something I'm not "graded" on. My plan is to start back at the begining of the 23 things and do the challenges that I thought were too overwhelming the first time. I am going to use my coffe time first thing in the morning...after checking my emails and take 15min. to LEARN!!!

Webjunction article- great ideas of bringing socila net-working into the library.

Gather.com- interesting social net-work gearing toward books.

ning- joined 23-things-on-stick. This i think will be a good resource for me. I think I'm going to try and create a ning of my own.

Facebook- joined and found several of my co-workers. Not sure if they want to talk shop. Joined library group, this should help me continue my learning.

There are so many podcasts out there is it hard to filter thru them all.
I found Transformation Education, and a history facts one that I really like. There is also one on austism and some fun comedy ones that I put on my ipod.
Gcast is something new that I just tried this week. How easy, all you need is a phone and presto!!!
Audacity- What a great way to edit you podcast before publishing and it's a free download...yeah

FUN! FUN! FUN!
I can see why this is blocked at our school. Students can find a lot of inappropriate stuff. Wish their could be an educational u-tube that could be safe for schools to use. There's a ton of great ideas for library learning that are fun. Got to love Conan.
Need to be patient sometimes with the whole speed thing.
Jumpcut- definitely a keeper. Great way of putting pics into video for presentation.

Elm- data base is great. Folders help you organize topics. The RSS does alot of the work for you.
Net library- Like the notes feature. Wish more titles were available.
EBSCO- easy way to save info. into web page.
Proquest- search, save, save as website.

Assignment calculator- could be very helpful to organize a large term paper in a specific topic.
Research calendar- Same but specific to research project.

I had no idea! I thought it was just a game. The possibilities are endless. I love the library and the art galleries WOW! What a great teaching tool. The possibilities are endless. What a great what to learn...it's all there.

I created my own reading list. This is great. When I go to book club we won't have to debate what we have and have not read anymore. Plus it's a great way to find new reads.
Secondly, I can see this at the middle school library to review books and promote new ones in collections.

I really like igoogle. I have my google docs, calendar, rss feeds all in one spot. I love the weather widgit. I also have the wikipedia and quote of the day. I popped in the Olympics for right now through SI.com which is great to keep up on medal counts.
Backpack- offers great collaboration when working with a group on a project.
Zamzar- great for converting some things but I was hoping to convert wav to mp3.
Skikkit- It is like a universal remote...wiki, docs, emails and address all in one spot.

This abyss of information could suck you in and you may not see family or friends for weeks. I really like the layout of Digg. I can see myself looking for information for work and getting completely caught up in something else. Lots of great and just interesting stuff out there.

I had set-up a del.icio.us account about a year ago and sort of forgot about it. This was great to be reintroduced to it. I learned how to use del.icio.us more efficiently. Before I had no tabs and didn't install the button. Now I think I'll really use it a lot! Thanks.

PB wiki is a great sight but my new favorite is wikispaces. I really like the layout and it's much easier for me to navigate. It also gives you a few more choices. I have not used it for work related items yet, BUT... it worked great for planning a weekend with friends and for creating a cookie exchange last Christmas.

I have used Google docs before. They are great!
Example: Modifying a test for a student.

Teacher sends out test to staff involved.
Staff edits test and may invite other staff to look at it.
Original and modified tests are both saved.
Print test. Saved for future use.

I really like the idea of my own e-folio. It was easy to create and a great way to store resume information as well as other items.

Great communication tools.
I've used survey monkey which I think is similar to Doodle.
Meeting Wizard and Meet-O-Matic look like they would be useful for planning large meetings.
IM will be great to talk to libraries in different buildings in our district.
I really think the web-in-nars will be a great tool for learning and teaching. The possibilities are endless. I watched some archived ones and have marked my calendar for upcoming events.

I love you Big Huge Labs! The collages and now trading cards. This will be great at middle school. We can create book reviews from the students with these and share them!

This was hard for me. I am a Picasa user and old habits die hard. I like the features on Flickr and will have to force myself into it. The question of photo privacy comes into play as well. I would love to upload more photos but am a little hesitant about including faces.

Oh my goodness! What a time-saver. I can really clean up my bookmarks and find everything I need. I checked out some media centers blogs and would love to make one for ours. Not sure of the protocol... will have to check that out. RSS rocks!

Diving into our second thing, I realize how much it is how I look at things rather than just what I learn. Taking 15min. a day to learn is a great idea. It's like flossing or working out. The thing really hit me is the Berg blog about being driven by student needs.
